Avio Aero is a GE Aviation business that designs, manufactures and maintains components and systems for civil and military aviation. We provide our customers with innovative technology solutions to quickly respond to the endless changes required by the market: additive manufacturing, rapid prototyping, as well as technologies dedicated to the production of mechanical transmissions, turbines and combustors.
Our challenge is to develop new technologies for applications on architectures that can reduce energy consumption, make aircraft engines lighter, and provide better performance.
Through continuous investment in research and development and a consolidated network of relationships with major Universities and international Research Centers, we have developed a globally acknowledged technological and manufacturing excellence. The partnerships signed with the world's leading aviation companies shows that this goal has been achieved.
Our team consists of over 5,200 people, 4,500 of whom work in Italy. Our head office is in Rivalta di Torino, where our largest production facility is also located. Other important Italian plants are in Brindisi, Pomigliano d'Arco (Naples) and Cameri (Novara), and we also have a production plant and a test center in Poland.

At Avio Aero, the fourth industrial revolution has already begun with something that has been dubbed "Brilliant Factory", a production site that can constantly self-improve its products and processes through real-time gathering, transmission and analysis of data. Avio Aero's Brilliant Factory is characterized by a faster product development cycle and improved production efficiency.
In this context, a key role is played by advanced manufacturing and, more specifically, additive manufacturing, which sees us on the forefront thanks to our Cameri plant, one of the largest in the world entirely dedicated to additive manufacturing.
In Puglia, together with the Polytechnic University of Bari, we have created a new laboratory, the Apulia Development Center for Additive Repair, to develop repair procedures for aviation engine components using innovative technologies based on laser systems. Together with the Polytechnic University of Turin, we have created the TAL - Turin Additive Laboratory - a joint lab created to collaborate on strategic research topics for the aviation industry, such as identifying new materials for this production technology.
